every time I receive a call, or call someone I get this noise that replaces everything if I have my AirPods in. ... Sounds like something falling through a tunnel and banging on pipes with a massive crackling reverb????

pro gen 2 are worth it for me. sound cancelling is much better
The 2s are awesome but I feel like for that price I’d just get the 3s
The pro 2s noise cancelling is MILES better. It’s the main feature of the product. My gf has the original pros and comparing noise cancelling during flights and travelling made her so envious of my 2s lol.
There’s literally nothing wrong with AirPods Pro 2. If they didn’t release the 3s I’d still be happy on 2s.
YES!!! The noise canceling on these is amazing. My partner snores like a freight train and I can’t hear him at all with these in. WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Pro 2 are objectively better but the 4 is pretty damn good if you hate silicone ear tips
They are absolutely worth it. Got mine in 2023 and they're still working like a charm. ANC is more than enough for any normal use and generally, the audio tuning is also generally considered better than on the 3s.
I had the same experience. New product from an Apple retailer, poor battery life, connectivity issues. When they work they are great, but when they don't consumers are left holding the bag on a very expensive product.
The main thing I hate about them is the controls on the actual earbuds. They’re so sensitive even my hair can trigger it (yes I’ve tried every hack and adjustment I could). ... It’s stupid that there’s no way to turn that feature off, or make it less sensitive.
The Apple AirPods Pro 2 that I bought last year have been the worst wireless headphones product, and also the worst Apple product experience in general, that I have ever had. ... I began having problems with them within the first two weeks of owning them, and after about 12 months, they are just unusable and fit to be thrown away.
I just went to a concert and these adaptive audio mode changed my life forever.
I have the 1s, 2s and 3s and I like the 3s more than the 2s. They fit further into the ear canal which I like.
Airpods Pro 2 is way better in sound quality, ANC, and Transparency mode than the first version. And the battery life is better also.
I’ve had all the pros and can say without a doubt 3’s are my favorite. Better anc, I like more bass so they sound better to me and most importantly they actually finally stay in my ear. ... ( although I really only upgraded because the anc on the left AirPod of the 2’s stopped working so instead of paying over 100 for 1 AirPod I just upgraded…. Glad I did )
When my left AirPod pro first gen started randomly crackling after a couple years I bought the pro 2s and they are phenomenal. Definitely worth every cent
the anc is pretty good for earbuds ... ive dropped my app2 case a lot of times and somehow the case is still in one piece lol (i dont use a case protector)
they’re the same thing as the 3 but have less problems and don’t look stupid like the 3’s
✅ What Works
- Seamless Apple ecosystem integration — instant popup pairing on any iCloud-linked device, automatic switching between iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and Find My coverage on both earbuds and case. No setup friction for iPhone owners.
- Adaptive Transparency mode is best-in-class — it attenuates sudden loud sounds (sirens, construction noise) while keeping ambient awareness intact and natural. Reviewers consistently call it the most natural-sounding passthrough of any TWS earbud.
- Sound quality with Adaptive EQ is strong across genres — the H2 chip adapts in real time to ear canal shape, and objective scores (Timbre, Distortion) place them near the top of the category.
- Hearing aid functionality (iOS 18+) is FDA-authorized and unique at this price — built-in hearing test plus clinical-grade amplification makes these the only earbuds that double as a medical device.
⚠️ Worth Knowing
- Android users get basic audio only — Spatial Audio personalization, Find My, hearing aid, automatic device switching, head gesture controls, and the Ear Tip Fit Test are all iPhone-only. Most of what makes these worth $329 is inaccessible on Android.
- Call quality degrades sharply in wind and background noise — SoundGuys testing showed voice dropping out in office environments; windy conditions render calls nearly unusable. Mic poll: 34% 'Okay,' 9% 'Awful.'
- No native EQ — iOS Settings offers only presets. Meaningful sound customization requires a third-party app, unlike Sony's companion app.
- 6-hour battery is the shortest in the premium TWS category — shorter than Sony XM5 (8–12 hrs) and meaningful for full workday use. The case extends total to 30 hours but earbuds alone may not last a long-haul flight.
For iPhone owners, the AirPods Pro 2 are the obvious choice — ecosystem integration is frictionless, Adaptive Transparency is the best in the category, and the hearing aid feature is genuinely unique. ANC is strong, though Sony's WF-1000XM5 edges it in raw noise killing. Battery is the shortest in the premium tier, call quality crumbles in wind and noise, and Android users get a fraction of the value. Deep Apple ecosystem users should buy confidently; everyone else should look elsewhere.
