Astro A50 Gen 5 Wireless Gaming Headset + Base Station

Honestly I didn't say this before but my biggest downside with the A50 is that dumb base station it's tied to. Just strips any notion of portability right out of it. Hell, your phone even bluetooth connects to the base and not the headset, which is a design choice I am incapable of understanding. I stuck with it because it's very good sound made the drawback worth it, but if I like the Maxwell 2 then I won't miss the A50.

This is my go to. Atmos on, set to Game mode with performance mode on. StealthZ EQ's (bounce back and forth from his general media one, and his footstep focused one). I also rock his StealthZ WC ear pads.

Love mine, I have the Gen 5 version, and it has excellent clean audio, fantastic mic, battery life and obviously the charging dock is a huge win for storing the headset neatly away while it tops its battery up.

Cause the pass through can be a nightmare at times especially for those using more than one platform and a TV instead of a monitor ... .

I upgraded from a gen 4 to a gen 5. Id say its worth it. The clamping force of the gen 5 is just a tiny bit more than the gen 4 but not much. Sound is much better on the gen 5 as well. The new graphene drivers make a difference

It makes the headset feel weightless, as if it's not even on your head. I can wear that style headset for hours, where any other headset sort of bothers me within minutes.

Still lots of weird random technical issues, but in Tarkov on competitive sound EQ mode I consistently hear things my teammates don't hear. ... For some reason they messed with the Gen4 pads. I found the Gen5 pads way too small and hot. I slapped my Gen4 pads on (my Gen4 dying was the reason for the upgrade) and I'm extremely happy. Nothing beats it on comfort. ... It's like a fancy car - you need to accept it being a little finicky, but for incredible performance.

The Astro A50 gen 5 is absolutely fine especially for the black Friday price! Can be used on every platform, Bluetooth and wireless is simultaneously etc. Absolutely banger microphone, sounds great, and can be eq'd via phone as well if needed!

Literally just picked up a pair and have been very happy so far. Lot more comfortable than I was expecting.

Honestly they have been awesome but to be fair you have to use the EQ adjustments in the software to really fine tune them for your liking. You can even set specific audio profiles for specific games.
