Zero issues with my Maxwell. Best headset I ever had. Used them for 6 months now
Praise
The Audeze Maxwell uses planar magnetic drivers โ the same technology found in $500+ audiophile headphones โ in a gaming headset form factor. The result is soundstage and instrument separation that no dynamic driver gaming headset can match. 80+ hour battery.

It's crazy how they're advertising special bass technology when it's actually worse. And it's not like the Maxwell 1 was a bass monster in the first place.
Have had mine for over a year with heavy use and they are in perfect working condition. Just make sure you take decent care of them.
Unfortunately right now I must say A50x. The durability of Maxwells is ridiculously low and they seems to don't give a shit about it instead release fixed version.
the Wireless USB Dongle, after a week has started randomly going quite, just disconnecting my headset from my PS5 for no reason, and then a minute or so later it will auto re connect. This has happend many times now, it's incredibly infuriating, and quite disheartening to have this happening on what should be a premium device.
Got the headset this week. According to the serial number, mine was produced august 2023. I also feel that the mic quality sucks and experience the same static noise you mentioned. The mic also has some kind of AI auto gain which makes the output volume unrelible. The fact that we have no way to control this either is just insane. And ofcourse, the static crackling sound when using sidetone is terrible. This was acknowledged as an actual issue by Audeze 8 months ago and is still present with a fairly New batch and the latest firmware.
Had mine for over 2.5 years, changed the pads for Wicked Cushions when I got them, use them for several hours most days, never had a single problem with them so far, other than I don't really like the boom mic, as it's not rigid enough.
Lol the Maxwells dominate in sound quality. It's not even close, honestly. Mic quality? Probably worse or even. Build quality? Debatable. But sound quality, you can't even compare the two. The huge planar drivers in the Maxwell are unmatched at these price ranges.
Ive had mine for a year with no issues. I got WC pads and headband immediately, to me the weight is no issue. My DT770s are just collecting dust now.. Sound quality is 10/10 in my opinion
The Audeze Maxwell Wireless is for Canadian gamers who refuse to compromise on audio quality. The planar magnetic drivers deliver a listening experience that makes every other gaming headset sound like a step down. The weight and price are real considerations, but for audiophile gamers who want the best sound available in a wireless headset regardless of category, the Maxwell is in a class of its own.
