Update: Bose replaced them with a pair of the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds. Those are also garbage.

I've had such a myriad of issues with them, I've had to have them replaced 3 times due to seal and charging issues. And even when they function as intended, the slight buzzing interference in the left earbud is extremely noticable and obnoxious, especially in quiet environments (And this is apparently intended behaviour), not to mention connection issues (Randomly turning off, dodgy in-ear detection) ... Your money is better spent on literally any other product on planet earth, please do not buy this terrible, terrible product.

Here’s my update: they sound really good immersive mode is good for some songs but really good for movies, music videos and YouTube content. ... Noise cancellation is G tier awareness mode is good too but needs a little work. ... I was gonna get the WF1000XM6 but these bad boys have grown on me a solid 9.5/10 overall.

I cannot stress this enough, do not get the Bose QC earbuds. They are notorious for not connecting, not syncing, and stopping working altogether.

I've gone through 8 different pairs, every single pair had some issue and had to be sent back. STOP BUYING THESE EARPHONES, they have noise-cancelling functionality that is superior but don't last.

The ANC is...unbelievable. It is miracle-level good. If ANC is your priority, get a Bose.

everything else feels about the same , No static on left yet but that was also the case with the original ultra before the static noises started later down the line. ... Ill test some more but I highly doubt i'm keeping these ... pretty poor from Bose really.

I returned my WH1000XM6 and brought the Bose. And they are awesome; I wore them to the cinema for my first test, and the noise cancellation was awesome for the ads and crowd noise (obviously, I took them out when the movie started). Today I wore them to the gym, and I could only hear my music. The aware mode is good enough, and the best part for me is immersive audio is great too.

1) They fix the mosquito buzzing in the left ear. 2) They fix the connectivity issues so there aren’t any. 3) They increase microphone quality. 4) They make the earbuds all around less buggy. Qi charging is not enough of an upgrade to warrant buying these, they’re essentially a firmware update in a “new” hardware package with a new charging case that should have been with the QC earbuds II.

I really regret buying mine also. Replacement issues connecting issues now charging issues. I’m on my third pair there won’t be a fourth.

Just purchased the Ultra Earbuds for $269, shipping in early October. Hope they stay on better than my Apple products.

✅ What Works

  • Noise cancellation and immersive audio are the standout theme, raised in 5 mentions — one owner rated the pair 9.5/10 overall, calling the noise cancellation 'G tier' and noting immersive mode is especially strong for movies, music videos, and YouTube content.
  • Sound quality drew a direct compliment ('sounds great') in the one mention that touched on it, though the sample is thin.
  • Fit was raised positively once, with an owner hoping the earbuds would stay seated in the ear better than their previous Apple product.

⚠️ Worth Knowing

  • A recurring defect pattern leads the complaints: one owner had units replaced three times over seal and charging issues plus persistent buzzing interference in the left earbud that Bose reportedly called 'intended behaviour,' and another went through 8 different pairs, each with its own issue.
  • Connectivity is unstable for multiple owners — 4 mentions cite random disconnects and dodgy in-ear detection, with one owner reporting that even a replacement pair sent by Bose was 'also garbage.'
  • Static and build-quality issues appear together in 5 mentions, including a report of static returning later in the ownership period after an initially clean start, and a complaint that promised aptx adaptive/lossless support never materialized on this model.
  • Value sentiment is mixed once defects are factored in — one owner summed up their experience as 'pretty poor from Bose really' despite comparable specs to the earbuds' predecessor.
ClearPick Verdict

**Owners are split down the middle on reliability**, with active noise cancellation drawing consistent praise even as connectivity and build-quality complaints pile up elsewhere. ANC and immersive audio make up the most repeated praise theme, raised in 5 of 19 tracked mentions, with one owner calling the noise cancellation 'G tier' and rating the earbuds 9.5/10 overall. But connectivity problems, including random disconnects and unreliable in-ear detection, surface in 4 of 19 mentions, and static or buzzing paired with build-quality defects appear across another 5 mentions, including accounts of earbuds being replaced two, three, even eight times. The tension is stark: the same owners praising noise cancellation and sound quality are, in a near-equal number of threads, describing hardware that fails and gets swapped repeatedly. **Buyers chasing best-in-class ANC for quiet environments may be satisfied, but anyone who has been burned by past Bose earbud reliability issues, or who can't tolerate a return-and-replace cycle, should pass.**
