Did some further research and might go for the Shokz OpenFits as they seem to have better reviews on sound leakage in the gym and microphone use for calls. I’ll need them for work too, and seems like the overall experience with the microphone and battery life for the price seems poor enough to say it’s gonna be a no for me - appreciate it!

I still have no idea why Bose has such issues getting multipoint on any of their earbuds. The QC Ultra headphones have it but none of the buds do, despite the fact it is something they have know about since they released the first gen QC Buds. It is a joke at this point. Like you said, in the app there is a way to set up a button command to switch devices and even that doesn't work. ... software sucks.
