Slower than some competitors on aggressive cutsโฆ
The 3-degree angle makes it precise but not fast. On a long grout line it's a workout compared to my old Fein with a wider angle. Better accuracy, slower pace.
Source: RedditThe DEWALT DCS356D1 is a 20V MAX oscillating multi-tool kit with variable speed, universal OIS accessory compatibility, and a 2.0Ah battery included. Available on Amazon.ca (ASIN B01M9FAEH7) at around $199 CAD.

โ"I undercut door casings for new hardwood floors. This tool did the work of 20 minutes with a handsaw in 90 seconds. Jaw-dropping how useful it is."โ

โ"Used it to flush-cut nails sticking through a subfloor after a bad teardown. Completely flush, no grinding, no sparks. Nothing else I own could do that."โ

โ"The 3-grip-zone design matters after 2 hours of grout removal. My old oscillating tool only had one grip and my wrist was screaming. This is much better."โ

โ"The accessory compatibility with non-DEWALT blades is what sold me. I could use my existing Fein blades. That's a big deal โ I have $100 in Fein blades already."โ

I bought one carbide grout blade and it was dull after one bathroom. Budget $15-20 for extra blades before starting any tile work.

My hand goes numb after about 40 minutes of continuous use. Oscillating tools vibrate more than anything else in the shop. Take breaks or wear anti-vibe gloves.

30-40 minutes of continuous work and you're charging. I recommend grabbing a second 2.0Ah battery if you have longer sessions planned.
Source: Amazon reviewerThe DCS356D1 is the standard recommendation for anyone entering the oscillating multi-tool category on DEWALT's 20V MAX platform. The DAI system's universal accessory compatibility, 3-zone ergonomic grip, and full variable speed control make it more capable than budget competitors. It favours precision over speed โ a trade that suits the tasks oscillating tools are uniquely suited for. Factor in the cost of spare blades before starting grout or tile work.
