I'll try restarting the router. The problem is, when I use these lights, Im usually about to stream or create content that involves being online, so I know youre just trying to help, but I cant believe Ive spent money and thats the best option, to kill my internet that im currently using, just to get some lightbulbs to function. I think these things need an on switch.

I'm fairly certain these lights have poor wifi chipsets. I have 100+ devices on a multi-building, multi-AP setup and these lights are the only ones that ever have issues. They've released multiple firmware updates in the last 6 months to try to address it, according to their release notes.
The lights are great, but I would much rather use them with a switch than relying on the control center. They often disappear, and I have to switch them off and on again, they are a bit of a mess in that sense. Good lights, terrible, terrible connectivity
Honestly not surprised as they are being outmatched by competitors. I just bought an Amaran Halo 100 light for the same price as my key lights and it puts out TONS more light and is streamdeck compatible.
I found the v2 to be very reliable. They do a lot of good sales during black friday. My complaint is how delicate the mount can be for such a heavy unit.
Good lights that can be controlled via software. Also, the stand that comes with it is pretty good too. If you can get it on sale, do it. Tho tbh you will get more value with other photography / videography oriented brands such as godox or amaran.
I love mine. Excellent build quality and never had issues with the software, at least on mac.
The lights are complete pieces of shit, Ive actually discouraged people from getting them thats how much I hate them
✅ What Works
- Excellent color temperature range (2900-7000K) and 2800 lumens brightness
- Low heat output despite high lumen count
- Sturdy build with solid included stand and clamp
⚠️ Worth Knowing
- WiFi connectivity issues unresolved since 2019 despite multiple firmware updates
- App and Control Center integration frequently disconnect and crash
- Expensive compared to more reliable alternatives like Amaran Halo 100
The Elgato Key Light delivers impressive brightness and color temperature range that owners praise for studio work and diffusion quality. However, the product is undermined by WiFi connectivity issues that have persisted since 2019 with no resolution despite multiple firmware updates—users report frequent disconnects and app failures that make these lights unreliable for content creators who stream or produce video. The light itself is solid, but the software layer is fragile. Avoid this if WiFi reliability is non-negotiable; consider the Amaran Halo 100 instead for similar output without the connectivity risk.
