Anything over 3 hours old is gone without paying for Aware. That's the most restrictive free tier of any camera I've tried. Should be at least 7 days like Arlo.

⚠️ Worth Knowing
- Free storage is extremely limited — just 3 hours of event history without a Google Home subscription. Meaningful storage requires Google Home Aware at $8/month (or bundled with Google One), which is among the more expensive subscription models in the category.
- No microSD card slot means local storage is not an option. Nest Cam is cloud-dependent for any clip retention beyond the brief free event history. For buyers who want subscription-free storage, this camera is not a good fit.
- Alexa integration is functional but limited compared to native Google Home use — you can pull up a live view on Alexa displays, but detection events and routines don't cross-integrate with Alexa the way they do within Google Home.
- HDR video is good but the 1080p resolution means it doesn't offer the sharpness of higher-resolution competitors for identifying fine details at distance. For a camera at $129 CAD, 2K or better would be expected from newer entrants.

No local storage option at all…
No SD card slot means you're locked into the cloud subscription. Wyze gives you local storage for free. For a $129 camera I expected more flexibility.
