On first listening ANC is better than Sony WF1000-XM5, buds are light and comfortable.

I gave away my old Pros because they always felt like they were about to fall out of my ears.
As someone who had the Pixel Buds 2 and then got the Pixel Buds Pro as a gift with my P8 purchase, I can't stress enough how much I miss the wings. ... This move is a win for sure.
Sadly not applicable in EU countries.
Just need the A-series wingtips and we are golden.
I'd say the biggest improvement is comfort and transparency mode. For transparency IMO PBP1 was 7.5/10 PBP2 is 9/10.
Interesting the ANC is better than the Sony.
I've come to learn that I just *need* buds with wings. Every pair I've had with wings has been comfortable and problem-free as far as fit, and every pair I've had without wings, just seem to fall out for me.
I need them to charge quickly, stay charged longer, stay put in my ears during workout, not disconnect randomly and have good speaker/microphone quality.
Find my device is useless on the current PBP
Just got mine, and my biggest compliment I can offer on these, is the transparency mode. Like you said, it sounds WAY more natural than the last generation.
I love the egg-shaped case and these are probably going to check off all of my needs :') so happy
Compared to Sony, the default here has less bass, but I think a better sound overall for my ears. The Pixel "more bass" EQ setting does the job but keeps the quality of the music.
Yeah but you can't use your $30 store credit on that so it's not really cheaper if you don't have anything else in the Google store you plan to buy
Weird ANC wasn't a selling point for me but I find the PB Pro's to be really good at it. It's the first ANC system I've used that didn't make me feel like my head is being pressurized and giving me a dizzy feeling.
Wings on the Pro 2 look to be much smaller than the A-series so they'll probably be more comfortable for sensitive people
Mine seems to drain very quickly compared to my Series-A
Wow, for that price I will rather go with Sony WF-1000XM5. ... I appreciate the effort of Google to enter the premium segment with their hardware but in reality they are not ready yet.
Tensor is the rebranded name of the chips that Samsung can't sell to anyone else and refuses to use in their own devices cause they are dogshit.
Or you could get this for cheaper and you have two ports
โ What Works
- The reintroduced wing tips fix a long-standing fit complaint. Owners who found the original Pixel Buds Pro loose say the redesign is 'a win for sure' and no longer feel like the buds are about to fall out (Wing Tip Fit, 4 mentions).
- Noise cancellation is called a step up, with one owner comparing it favorably to the Sony WF-1000XM5 right out of the box (Active Noise Cancelling, 4 mentions).
- Sound quality holds up in direct comparisons: owners report less bass than Sony by default but better overall tuning, with an EQ preset available for anyone who wants the bass back (Sound Quality, 2 mentions).
- The charging case draws unprompted praise, with one owner calling the egg-shaped case a highlight of the whole setup (Case & Charging, 2 mentions).
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- Find My Device tracking is called out as ineffective by owners trying to use it to locate lost buds (App Features).
- Connectivity isn't fully solved for everyone: one owner lists random disconnects during workouts alongside microphone quality as unresolved asks (Connectivity & Stability).
- Pricing and promotions aren't consistent across regions, including at least one owner noting a benefit 'not applicable in EU countries,' pointing to uneven value depending on where you buy (Price & Value, 3 mentions).
- Not every fit story is resolved by the redesign: one owner gave away the original Pixel Buds Pro because they 'always felt like they were about to fall out,' a complaint that predates this generation's wing tip fix (Comfort & Fit).
Owners report the reintroduced wing tips finally solve the fit problem that dogged the original Pixel Buds Pro, with **one owner calling the design change 'a win for sure' after giving away the earlier model over insecure fit**. Noise cancellation draws similarly strong marks, described as beating the Sony WF-1000XM5 on first listen, and sound quality comparisons favor the Pixel Buds Pro 2's tuning even with less bass by default. But the praise isn't universal: reports split close to even, with recurring gripes about Find My Device being ineffective, occasional workout disconnects, and pricing or promotions that don't apply evenly across regions. That tension between a genuinely improved fit and ANC on one hand, and software and connectivity complaints on the other, means **buyers chasing all-day comfort and strong noise blocking should feel confident, while anyone burned by the earlier model's fit issues or reliant on Find My Device support should wait for more reports before buying**.
