I tested one for a month and it was actually awful. Good luck with yours!
iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max
The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max combines vacuuming and mopping in one unit with a full-service dock that empties, refills, and cleans the mop pad automatically. Designed for premium buyers seeking a complete autonomous cleaning solution, it excels at avoiding obstacles but stumbles on navigation reliability and mopping execution.

Tbh, the Combo 10 Max is a knee-jerk reaction to the onslaught of all-in-one docking stations I can see why they had to do it, but it would have been better if they spent a bit more time and leapfrogged the current offerings.
It worked as advertised, and I still think the Roomba object recognition is the best. I don't have to worry about it running over anything left on the floor, and I have kids leaving stuff all over the house. It works very well.
I agree with this review as I'm testing one now. Old fashioned mop system, slow navigation, bangs into everything scuffing up the robot's lustre in mere hours of use, failed to completely map my kitchen first time, gets confused if you turn it over, the dock suction doesn't remove sandy particles or small gravel, the red light just came on during its first kitchen mop ... the mop cleaning is hilariously inept, I could go on.
Self-emptying is very loud and sounds like a big fart..twice.. once when it starts and another one when it funishes.. Cleaning/drying of the mop pad takes hours to finish and also very noisy.
500 off is a great deal. Only things to note is there is no bin full sensor, but there is a setting to increase the empty runs. Also, you need to let it sit for a few hours after the wifi connection to let the base update or you will have problems with base leakage. I have one with two high shedding dogs and it is good
I dont know where the problem is, but i sent my J9+ combo back after weekend because the dock didnt work. So i got the money back and bougt 10 MAX. And today a recieved money back again. It didnt recognize type of floor :-( IRobot newer more
✅ What Works
- Best-in-class obstacle recognition—consistently avoids pet waste, toys, and household clutter
- Powerful suction with smart dirt detection for high-traffic areas
- Full dock automation with pad washing and tank refilling
- Excellent value when discounted $500 or more
⚠️ Worth Knowing
- Slow, unreliable navigation; fails to map rooms consistently on first attempt
- Severely outdated mopping system with poor cleaning performance for the price
- Extremely loud self-emptying and multi-hour mop pad drying cycles
- Floor-type recognition failures; firmware feels incomplete at launch
The Roomba Combo 10 Max is a letdown for iRobot fans expecting a true flagship experience. Its strongest asset is obstacle recognition—owners consistently praise its ability to avoid pet waste and toys—but that cannot compensate for its core failures: slow, unreliable navigation that struggles to map rooms, an outdated mopping system with laughably poor results, and a self-emptying dock so loud owners describe it as sounding like "a fart" with drying cycles stretching for hours. One detailed owner summarized it as "a knee-jerk reaction" to all-in-one competitors, lacking the refinement needed at this premium price. Buy only at steep discount ($500+ off) if you can accept these compromises; otherwise, stick with proven iRobot models or explore alternatives.
