The issue with Roomba 705 is that it's a generic dropshipping model from Picea (with slight modifications for brand awareness, made in China. Can't compete with dreame, narwal, mova or ecovacs, but asks a similar price.

Update 2: mapped the whole house (1400 sq ft) in 20 minutes. Thing is fast. the only downside, due to the Lidar turret, it couldn’t go under my TV furniture. ... The dock also doesn’t have any “ramp” .

No, it's a "rebadge" just like the other ones. Roomba 205 DustCompactor has the same LiDAR setup as this 705 Combo, which is derived from other 3i reference designs.

Why did a lot of you purchase either the 705 Max or 705 Max combo instead of waiting 1-2 years until the bugs were worked out? When something new comes out, I am hesitant to buy anything until I read reviews from Best Buy, Home Depot, and Amazon. ...
