Feels good, easy enough to use software. Responsive and build quality seems solid, I have had zero issues so far. (1 year)

u can get insanely sensitive keystrokes... and a few slightly illegal settings available
Wooting is known among enthusiasts for having terrible build quality but awesome software. They also cost twice what comparable Keychrons do.
I got this about 2 years ago and absolutely LOVE IT! Great price for it as well.
I'm blown away with how good it is ... Coming from a 2014 ducky shiny with cherry brown switches makes this feel like a major upgrade. I think it sounds great despite what people say about magnetic switches.
From an enthusiast stand point, nothing beats the wooting ... Both are hall effect PCB's but wooting takes it every time.
it's good for racing games where you want to brake or accelerate dynamically than digital input
I personally type faster with HE keyboards.
If I were you I'd go with the Keychron ... should still feel nice, and should be a bit more of a better productivity-oriented keyboard ... if you are also programming. and specifically looking for a wireless keyboard. the Keychron might be a better choice for you.
I had bought the Q1 a while back and the board seemed detective ... they sent another one over just like that.
having delete not in the top right corner and having a knob there that you won't use 99% of the time ... kind of kills it for typing
โ What Works
- Hall effect magnetic switches with rapid trigger and adjustable actuation โ the same technology in the SteelSeries Apex Pro but in a 75% form factor with a premium aluminum case and double-gasket mount that produces a softer, more premium typing feel
- Wireless Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connectivity gives Canadian gamers and office workers the flexibility to use it across devices โ switch between gaming PC and work laptop without re-pairing
- Programmable control knob adds volume, brightness, and custom function control that TKL and full-size layouts don't include
- Double-gasket mount absorbs typing vibration for a quieter, softer keystroke feel that RTINGS notes as meaningfully better than the SteelSeries Apex Pro's typing experience
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- Smaller 75% form factor removes the function row โ Canadian gamers who rely on function keys for in-game bindings need to remap or use the Fn layer
- No OLED display or wrist rest compared to the SteelSeries Apex Pro โ the Keychron invests in build quality and typing feel rather than gaming-specific features
- Better for Canadian gamers who also use their keyboard for serious typing work than for pure gaming setups where the Apex Pro's gaming-specific features have the edge
The Keychron Q1 HE is for Canadian gamers who want Hall effect magnetic switch performance without sacrificing typing quality for daily productivity use. The double-gasket mount, aluminum case, and wireless connectivity make it the most premium-feeling Hall effect keyboard at this price. For pure competitive gaming setups where the OLED display and wrist rest matter, the SteelSeries Apex Pro has the gaming-specific edge โ but for gamers who type all day and game in the evening, the Q1 HE is the better all-day keyboard.
