I made a similar point about this whole Nordictrack - IFit thing the equipment quality does not match the price for a start -- and the problems you have had are appalling - think if that machine was in a gym - they would be livid on the IFit side - I did not sign up for having my monthly cost go from $15 a month which I think is reasonable to $40 or more a month - which is basically a gym membership everyone needs to keep posting their stories so new buyers can find these posts and at least know what they are in for.

i've had to repair a couple and they were both NT junk and pre-pandemic. this weak deck issue has been a thing for them for way too long.
Mine works fine but it is very restricting unless you purchase iFIT. Owned ours for 2 plus years and use it every day begrudgingly to get my monies worth. You can control start/stop speed, incline with zero ability to program a custom exercise. I wish I had shopped around.
Mine is sitting in my yard looking as dumb as I feel for buying it.
Because I have worked on more of those than I care to admit, and they are all garbage. If the drive belt looks like that, the controller was probably stressed as well, and may shut down when using. Those treadmills are absolute money pits.
Hi! I have had similar issues, the machine is complete garbage. The current problem....the board under the belt snapped while my husband was running on it!!! These machines need to be recalled, I am so utterly sorry I purchased it. I've had it about 14 months, its been broken about 50% of the time. I had to go through BBBureau to even get a response from the company.
I had three nordictracks in less than three years. Nothing but problems. If they work, they are fun but most of the time they do not work. I now have a horizon 7.4 AT and 0 problems after about 1000km.
Made the mistake of buying this treadmill, I also got an extended warranty too. Heres the parts that broke on my 2023 version: Motor Motor Controller (separate occasion) Frame bolt (like 1/2" thick, should not break!) Cracked running deck (I'm only 185lbs) Electronic circuit breaker - Kept tripping at 14.5km/h Eventually the entire unit was replaced due to the frame bending What a lemon!
โ What Works
- Adjustable incline/decline (-3% to +12%) for varied terrain training
- 16-inch touchscreen display with iFIT workout integration
- Foldable frame design for compact storage
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- Systemic durability failures: Motors, controllers, running decks, and frames fail frequently across multiple units with short ownership timelines
- Safety concerns: Running deck cracks under normal weight; frame bolts and structural components fracture unexpectedly
- Poor warranty support: Slow response times and difficulty resolving warranty claims reported by multiple owners
- Expensive subscription model: Most features require $15โ40+ monthly iFIT subscription beyond the $1,200 purchase price
Owners consistently report systemic failures: motors, controllers, running decks, and frames fail across multiple units, often within 12โ18 months. Self-identified repair technicians call these "money pits," and the sample includes owners who've had three units in three years, with one machine broken roughly 50% of the time. Safety is a concern โ decks crack under normal weight (185 lbs), frame bolts fracture unexpectedly, and structural components like the board under the belt have snapped during use. Warranty support is slow and difficult to access. Most features require a $15โ40+ monthly iFIT subscription beyond the $1,200 purchase price. Avoid this model; compare Horizon or other established brands with proven reliability records.
