I'm glad you posted this. My post got deleted this morning about a slightly different topic, but the issues I am having with NordVPN. They told me to go through tech support instead, which, based on your post seems like it is a bunch of bots ... But it significantly slowed down my internet speeds. I often had to pause it to access websites. It was clunky all around. Unfortunately I paid for a two year subscription. But I just cancelled the auto-renewal as well. Lesson learned.
NordVPN
NordVPN is a popular VPN service known for fast streaming speeds and easy-to-use interface. However, owners consistently report billing surprises, connectivity issues, and weak Linux support.

I've been using NordVPN for streaming and gaming, and it's been great with fast speeds and minimal buffering. The interface is user-friendly, and the wide server selection is a plus for accessing content worldwide. Yeah, it's a bit pricier, but you're getting solid value with all the extras, including those TV apps. Totally worth the cash, IMO.
Still the same old connectivity issues you guys had years ago. Slows my connection right down until I have problems accessing websites, apps, etc. Once the VPN is disable everything works normally again. I request a refund and nothing happens. I go to check it and oh look at that...no refund happening and the option for it is no longer there even though I'm within 30 days. Terrible.
It's supposed to protect you from online threats, scams etc (based on their TV adverts.) They don't warn you that their pricing scam and automatic charging prices, even if your credit card has changed, means they can keep increasing charges year on year until you cancel with the mandatory grace period. I lost almost $300 on this bs Never again, and will never recommend.
They suck for WireGuard and Linux, avoid. Use only if using OpenVPN protocol and windows apps. Otherwise, this product is not keeping up ... Nordlynx is rubbish they should support wireguard in general more. Use the basic app instead of Nords that phones home every second. Its just crap really. And that is why this customer probably stop using Nord before my paid service expires.
That's a nice NordVPN review. Ofc there can be various opinions and user experiences but one thing about NordVPN is that they give the quality as promised... And for just a couple of dollars per month. There are some other providers who scrape way more from you and you can't even stream normally because that VPN doesn't unlock anything. With Nord though, I always succeed. So can add to this - recommend.
The worst thing i have to say about Nord is that periodically it drops connection. I was about to cancel it several years ago because it was really often over a short period of time. The good part is, when it drops connection, my internet connection also drops so if I don't notice right away, it's OK. Since that short period of time, though, I haven't had too much issue with it dropping. Mostly works OK and cost is relatively low
i read great reviews about nord, so i bought something like 4 yrs for $235. its been nothing but a headache. i had to do a bunch of registry editing to even get it to install. after that my internet connection would go down a couple times a day ... support was useless, all they would do is ask for a screenshot of my installed apps, over and over ... My laptop, tablet, phone, roku's and alexa's work fine on my wifi, its just my pc that has nord. also if i uninstall nord my pc works fine. will be looking for another vpn solution. FRUSTRATED!
โ What Works
- Excellent streaming and gaming speeds with minimal buffering
- User-friendly interface and wide server selection
- Affordable per-month pricing with multi-platform support
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- Deceptive billing practices: auto-renewal with hidden annual increases and cancellation lock-in within 30-day window
- Frequent connection slowdowns, dropped connections, and website blocking
- Poor Linux and WireGuard support; reliability issues on Windows require manual troubleshooting
NordVPN delivers fast streaming speeds and user-friendly setup, but owners consistently flag three critical issues: deceptive billing practices that automatically renew at increasing prices and hide cancellation within the 30-day window (documented complaints of $300+ in unexpected charges); frequent connection slowdowns and dropped connections requiring manual restarts; and weak Linux/WireGuard support that limits reliability to Windows. Long-term users report recent service degradation. Skip unless you're on Windows, can tolerate billing complications, and accept connectivity trade-offs for streaming speed.
