I picked up about 10 books for $5 each and another 10 boxes of the index cards for $1. I also got a few of the capsules for $5. It was a huge clearance find for me.

even the core is not infinitely reusable. I've noticed after several years, the pages resist the ink. switching to the synergy pens helped, but they sometimes need to be primed on a regular piece of paper before they wire on the rocketbook
Well that price is actually not good news. Means the product is failing. Enjoy it btw
RocketBook has been one of my best investments of 2019. Archiving work notes has been great for future reference. Now if only they'd develop a lined version (which is supposedly in development) and this would be the perfect product for what it does. The app is incredibly efficient in picking up pages and converting them too.
I like it a lot. The pens erase cleaner with their erasers. The colours pop. I was a big fan of the Wave, but the Everlast is worth it โ and really, the cost is the same.
My biggest issue with the core/everlast notebook is the texture of the pages. Since it's basically plastic, it takes a long time for the ink of the pens to dry which leads to a lot of smearing (especially since I'm a lefty). The texture can also make it annoying to write on sometimes, I just find the pens to write better on something less smooth.
Great video, thanks for sharing! I agree about the binding. I actually unbound my Core and put it together with my Fusion and the spiral seems more proportional now.
โ What Works
- Exceptional app integration with OCR and digital archiving
- Clean erasability and vibrant pen colors
- Compact, reusable format for organized note-keeping
- Effective for paperless workflow integration
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- Glossy plastic texture causes ink smearing, especially for left-handed users
- Page surface feels less natural to write on than paper; requires adjustment
- Ink resistance degrades after years of use, requiring pen priming
- Spiral binding proportion feels awkward compared to other notebook formats
Owners consistently praise the app-based OCR archiving and the ability to scan pages directly into digital workflows, but split roughly evenly on whether the glossy plastic texture ruins the writing experience. The most persistent complaint is ink smearing โ especially for left-handed users โ though switching to finer-tip or specialty pens like the Synergy line helps. Durability emerges as a secondary concern: after several years of heavy use, the pages begin to resist ink, requiring pen priming on regular paper first. Buy this if you prioritize digital archiving and OCR capture over a natural paper feel; skip it if you're left-handed, write frequently, or plan to use the same notebook for years without concerns.
