As we all know, the Sennheiser HD600 is one of the most recognized and recommended headphones of all time, for many good reasons. Comfort, build quality and brand recognition, for example. When it comes to sound, the midrange is extremely natural, vocals sound incredible and treble is subdued and harmless even for people sensitive to it.

I have actually never seen a fake HD 600 headphone before!
I actually didn't like to use my HD 600 in the past 2 months, because my ears were touching the foam inside the ear cup.
Those pads are suffering.
It goes to show that 3rd party sellers are always a risky gamble in that it can be non-official inventory not sold from us. We recommend to always buy through authorized resellers.
I can say for certain that the drivers were definitely different! Not only in terms of sound, but also in sensitivity. When running them through my topping DX3 Pro+, the fake pair ran on similar level with my HD 560s (which are already easy to drive headphones).
You should also look at Voskhod 6J1P-EV. They have a more warm, classic tube signature. The GE JAN 5654W I find to be clearer.
They mean: your headphone stand is crushing your pads, they flatten out with use as the sound changes for the worse. By leaving them either on your head or the stand they’re constantly compressed, drastically reducing the lifespan of the pads, get a stand where they hang or lay them flat, hd 600 pads don’t last a long time anyway
Important reminder not to keep any of these headphones on a stand that compresses the padding, also (earpads or headband).
Finally I managed to have an hd600 and a tube amp, even though it is not the most expensive amp. With the original tubes of the Xduoo mt-602 (6j1) the differences for the Fiio k5 Pro (left in the photo) are not very pronounced. I already bought other tubes (5654w) and I am waiting arrive to see if i can get a properly tube sound. I'm getting close to my end game!
I still personally prefer the HD 600, even though the bass extension is better on the HD 660S2. There’s that dip in the presence region that I don’t exactly love, but that’s without EQ of course, so I can fix that rather easily.
I picked a pair as my DT 990 pros where falling apart I understand now why old mate senny is the bench mark.

When it comes time definitely give the ZMF perforated suede pads a try. Makes the 600s sound even better.
