I got mine on Sunday, and they are going back to Amazon today. I thought they sounded alright with a little bass boost in the app, however I couldn't find a good balance of fit, volume and sound quality. Where they fit well and were secure they either sounded bad or were too quiet and where they sounded good and had reasonable volume they would either fall out, or be very uncomfortable.

I think I must be wearing these wrong...Everyone talks about how comfortable they are but they hurt my right ear like hell and I can't even get it in my left ear without a struggle.

They sound...alright. Out of the box, there's obviously a massive bass and treble roll-off like you see on the measurements. However, the midrange actually sounds quite natural and correct, much more so than your average V-shape budget TWS. You can alter the tuning to some extent using the EQ in the app; I ended up pulling the treble and bass bands nearly as high as they would go.

Not an audiophile but I have both and the linkbuds sound way better for music. I can actually hear the bass and could see myself dancing to the music unlike the aeropex. It's like comparing AM radio to FM radio to me.

Any updates on day 2/3? I really enjoyed them all through day 1, but it feels like the entirely hard plastic shell bruised my ears and 2 days later I still can't comfortably wear them like I did initially.

I'm really curious about this as well as I love my Aeropex. My only issue is that LinkBuds don't have multipoint pairing. But, I might be willing to trade this for better microphone performance.

Have both. So far. I'd prefer the Aftershokz for bike riding and podcast type stuff when outside... but music or podcast around the house or walking in public, I'd go Linkbuds. I still don't have a secure enough fit to use them with biking or jogging and would be afraid of them possibly falling out.

Honestly I like everything about these buds but the open back part. A closed version I would buy in a heartbeat.

✅ What Works

  • Excellent 22-hour battery life with quick 3-minute charging
  • Transparent open-ring design keeps you aware of surroundings
  • Sound quality becomes satisfying once fit is dialed in and EQ adjusted
  • Better music playback than bone-conduction alternatives

⚠️ Worth Knowing

  • Hard plastic shell causes bruising and discomfort during first few days of ownership—requires fit adjustment period
  • Not secure enough for active use; high risk of falling out during exercise
  • Open design provides zero isolation; unsuitable for noise-sensitive environments
  • Significant bass and treble roll-off out of box (EQ adjustment needed)
ClearPick Verdict

The LinkBuds Open prioritize ambient awareness over isolation, and owners consistently report that sound quality improves once fit is properly dialed in—though the journey there involves a learning curve with the hard plastic shell causing discomfort and bruising in the first few days. Battery life is excellent at 22 hours, and the transparent design excels for indoor use and casual outdoor listening where you want to stay aware of your surroundings. However, the open-ear design means zero isolation, and the fit isn't secure enough for active use like biking or jogging. Buy these if you want to hear everything around you; skip them if you need isolation or plan to wear them during exercise.
