They have a bug right now where the custom eq becomes flat the moment you tinker with it. Anc and transparency are good. Sound quality imo is not good - especially after the software update. Bass is lacking.

It's been frustrating to find Space A40 reviewers that "didn't" receive their earbuds directly from Soundcore/Anker (promotion kit). I must have watched 10 YouTube reviews, all were based on promotional gear. I can't bring myself to fully trust these reviews. ... Lack of wireless charging and LDAC aren't a deal-breaker for me, comfort and sound quality rule. In addition, the Space A40's may be small to handle for big fingers, the stems on the Life Note 3 XR has been helpful.

Better in that there is a gaming mode for lower latency, battery life is longer, and the buds are smaller/lighter. Similar or worse in most other areas, particularly sound quality.

So I have an update concerning the matter. I think this is a software issue and it will probably never be fixed. I always change to normal mode when making a phone call. I noticed that it mainly happens when I have it on transparent mode or noise-canceling mode. So while on the call I sometimes just disconnect the Bluetooth and connect it back and it works fine

My observations with A40 are that it's mic is quite subpar. Used both L3P and A40. Sound quality during AAC is comparable, plus you've got EQ and HearID so it works. LDAC yeah, L3P is better, but the typical down side of multipoint loss makes it an infrequent use case. ANC is also comparable, plus A40 doesn't have the "earbud automatically going to ANC from transparency mode" problem. The mics and call quality, though... There's just no comparison. A40 is as efficient as a coffee mug made of mesh.

Got it...it sounds like the liberty 3 pro's would be a better choice then all. when they go on sale, they can be had for the same price(about 100.00)... Although I will say...if you could side sleep in the A40's that would be interesting...I have yet to find any BT headphones that dont annoy me when I lay on my side
