Cleaning cartridges are expensive…
The shaver itself is great but I didn't realize I'd be spending $15 every month on cleaning cartridges. It adds up to almost $200 a year on top of the purchase price.

"Handles 4-day stubble without any drama. The AutoSense thing actually works — you can feel it kick up the power on thicker spots."

"Using it in the shower was a game changer for me. I shave in 2 minutes with warm water and my skin feels way better than it did with cartridge razors."

"My husband bought one and I bought one a month later. The cleaning station is genuinely convenient — it's a one-touch process and the shaver is always clean and ready."

I switched from cartridge razors hoping for the same closeness. It's good but if you need baby-smooth skin this isn't quite it, especially in the mustache area.
Source: RedditReplacement heads are pricey…
After 18 months I needed new foils and the replacement cassette was $55. Still cheaper than cartridge razors long-term but the sticker shock is real.
Source: Amazon reviewerLearning curve for neck direction…
Took me 3 weeks to figure out the right passes for my neck. The shaver is excellent but the technique required is different from a razor.
Source: Amazon reviewerThe Braun Series 7 is the sweet spot in Braun's lineup — close enough to compete with the premium Series 9 at a meaningfully lower price. AutoSense technology and 4-directional flexing make it capable of handling 3–5 days of growth without multiple passes that irritate skin. Factor in the SmartCare Center's ongoing cartridge costs when budgeting, and budget for a replacement foil cassette after 18 months — but against the long-run cost of cartridge razors, it pays for itself.
