Not ideal for dead dry wood…
Not ideal for dead dry wood — tried it on some dead apple tree branches and the bypass action crushed rather than cut. For dead wood, an anvil lopper is better.
Source: Amazon reviewerThe Fiskars 32" PowerGear2 Bypass Lopper uses a gear mechanism that multiplies cutting force 3× — making 2" branches feel like half the effort of standard loppers. Built for live wood pruning in residential Canadian gardens. Available on Amazon.ca (ASIN B00002N66V) at around $49 CAD.

"Five seasons in and the blade is still sharp. Canadian winters haven't done anything to the steel."

32 inches is short for overhead branches I can't reach. Had to get a ladder for anything above head height.

2 inch limit is real — forced it on a thicker branch once and bent the blade slightly. Stay within spec.

Grip design is right-handed — I'm left-handed and it works fine but the handle doesn't feel quite as natural.
Source: Amazon reviewerThe Fiskars 32" PowerGear2 Bypass Lopper is one of those tools that outperforms its price — at $49 CAD, the PowerGear2 mechanism and hardened bypass blade deliver cutting performance that rivals loppers costing twice as much. The bypass design is best for live wood, the 32" length has real reach limits, and the 2" diameter cap is a hard rule. For routine Canadian garden maintenance — pruning shrubs, fruit trees, and ornamental trees — this lopper is the correct starting point.
