My trainer told me to stop using it…
I brought my dog to training classes and the first thing they said was to stop using the retractable leash. It had been reinforcing his pulling behaviour for months. I use a fixed leash now for training and the retractable only on off-trail hikes.

I burned my hand on a cord retractable from another brand. The Flexi tape version is much safer. If anyone is buying a retractable leash make sure it's tape not cord — the difference matters.

After about 45 minutes my hand cramps holding the plastic handle. My old fabric leash was much more comfortable for long walks. This is a supplement to my regular leash, not a replacement.
