Uniformity issue on mine…
My unit has a slightly brighter patch in the upper right corner on white backgrounds. Not visible on normal TV content but annoying on web browsing.

"I compared this side-by-side with the LG C4 OLED at my friend's place. The OLED wins in absolute dark scenes but the U8N at $600 less is almost as good."

"Every HDR movie I watch on this TV looks like a theatrical experience. The highlights literally sparkle on explosions and sunlit scenes."

"144Hz gaming is buttery smooth. PS5 runs at 4K 120Hz and the input lag is imperceptible."

"I've owned Samsung, LG, and Sony TVs. This Hisense at $999 beats all of them on raw picture performance. Hisense has arrived."

Source: Amazon reviewerThermal throttling at max brightness…
The TV dims itself after extended bright scenes. Hisense says this is normal but feels like the advertised 3000 nits is a peak-peak number not sustained.
Source: RedditRemote feels cheap…
For a $1000 TV the remote is plasticky and hard to read in the dark. LG's Magic Remote at this price point is a completely different experience.
Source: Amazon reviewerWorried about long-term software support…
Hisense dropped updates for my last TV after 2 years. Hoping the Google TV base means better support here, but I'm watching it.
Source: RedditThe Hisense U8N is the most impressive value in the Canadian TV market — 1000+ zone Mini-LED, 3000 nit peak brightness, 144Hz, four HDMI 2.1 ports, and Dolby Vision IQ for $999 CAD. It competes picture-quality-wise with TVs costing $500 more and is the closest thing to OLED contrast at a non-OLED price. Minor concerns about long-term software support and sample variation in uniformity are the only notable caveats.
