I made a similar point about this whole Nordictrack - IFit thing the equipment quality does not match the price for a start -- and the problems you have had are appalling - think if that machine was in a gym - they would be livid
NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill
The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 packs a 4.25 CHP motor onto a 22"ร60" cushioned deck. iFIT auto-adjusts speed and incline to match virtual terrain on the 16" pivot touchscreen, which also streams Netflix, Spotify, and Amazon Prime.

Mine works fine but it is very restricting unless you purchase iFIT. Owned ours for 2 plus years and use it every day begrudgingly to get my monies worth. You can control start/stop speed, incline with zero ability to program a custom exercise. I wish I had shopped around.
Yes, while the treadmill was off, I inserted the SD card, then turned it on. It checks the SD slot first before fully booting and what it found were instructions to reinstall fully, which it did. Took it right back to factory fresh with a fully working iFit... My wife and I have been using it almost daily.
Bought the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 (Model No. NTL14114.0) in 2014. Within a year or so, I was getting a blue ifit frozen screen. After much back and forth over several months, they sent me a whole new console, which fixed the (apparently more common than it should have been) problem I was having.
After looking for a high-quality treadmill that I planned to use for the long-term, I purchased the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill. In summary, I regret my purchase after 3 months of use and would never have bought the machine.
I bought this NordicTrack Commercial 1750 for $200 thinking I was getting a good deal (10% of purchase price), but what I bought was a headache and a crash course to be a treadmil technition.
Deck (which broke while I was running - I weigh far less than 300 lbs)
There are plenty of other better treadmills. Nordictrack is absolute garbage. You could get used commercial, Horizon or Sole that will all be better than the Nordictrack.
You're hearing here from treadmill technicians who have serviced the brand for years and know what the treadmills, and the company, are really like after the new treadmill smell wears off. They are telling you that NordicTrack treadmills are poorly made compared to others, don't hold up well, and the company is difficult to deal with.
Commercial 1750 has a softer cushion while running (my ankles are not the strongest and I have bad arch support)
โ What Works
- -3% decline to 15% incline range is one of the widest in the home treadmill category โ the decline training capability engages different muscle groups and more accurately simulates real outdoor running conditions for Canadian runners training indoors through winter
- 4.25 CHP commercial motor handles sustained high-intensity running sessions without the performance degradation that smaller motors show under extended load โ meaningful for serious Canadian runners who train daily
- 14-inch HD touchscreen with iFIT integration delivers trainer-led workouts with auto-adjusting speed and incline โ the treadmill changes settings automatically based on the workout, removing manual adjustment during runs
- Garage Gym Reviews calls it one of their top overall picks for home use โ consistently recommended as the benchmark home treadmill by independent fitness reviewers
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- iFIT subscription is required to unlock the full interactive feature set โ the treadmill functions without it but the auto-adjusting workouts that justify the price require an ongoing subscription cost
- iFIT's subscription practices have documented complaints โ users report difficulty finding individual plan pricing and aggressive upselling to family plans, which is worth factoring into total ownership cost
- Heavy at over 300 lbs assembled โ placement is essentially permanent once set up, and Canadian basement installations should verify floor load capacity
The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is the home treadmill for serious Canadian runners who need commercial-grade performance for year-round indoor training. The decline capability, 4.25 CHP motor, and iFIT integration make it the most complete home treadmill available. Factor in the iFIT subscription cost and go in knowing the subscription management is frustrating โ but the hardware itself is the benchmark for home treadmills at this price.
