Tool-only — battery cost adds up…
Without a 4.0Ah battery this saw runs out quickly on a big cutting session. The tool price is fair but add a proper battery and you're closer to $330. Plan for it.

"Built an entire pergola with this saw — ripped 4x4 posts, cross-cut 2x6 beams, cut 1x6 decking. Ran a 4.0Ah battery and never once felt limited. Cordless freedom is everything."

"Compared this to my corded DEWALT on a shelf-building project. The brushless motor kept the same speed through every cut. I can barely tell the difference in performance."

"The 56-degree bevel setting let me cut the compound angles on a decorative gable trim that my old 45-degree saw couldn't handle. That alone justified the upgrade."

"Same battery ecosystem as my Ryobi drill and jigsaw. I grab whatever's charged and go. The convenience factor of one platform is underrated until you live it."

Tried to rip a 4x4 post and the blade only went partway through. Had to flip and cut from the other side. Know your depth limits before buying if you work with thick lumber.

The included blade leaves rough edges on plywood. Buy a 40-tooth or 60-tooth finish blade for any visible cut. Budget $25-30 for it the same day.

My corded DEWALT feels more planted and stable during rip cuts. The cordless is lighter and more convenient but there's a slight difference in rigidity feel. Purely subjective but real.
Source: Amazon reviewerThe Ryobi PBLCS300B is the most capable circular saw in the Ryobi 18V ONE+ lineup, and the brushless HP motor gives it a genuine performance step over the standard brushed ONE+ model. For homeowners and light-duty contractors who want cordless freedom and already own ONE+ batteries, it's a compelling choice. The 2-1/4-inch depth capacity and tool-only format are the real constraints to budget for; pair it with a 4.0Ah+ battery and a finish blade for full usefulness.
