Color night vision requires ambient light…
Marketed as color night vision but if there's no porch light nearby it just switches to black and white IR. Don't expect it to see color in complete darkness.

"2.5K at $39. I can read license plates on cars parked across my driveway. At this price it's borderline absurd."

"The included 32GB card means I'm not paying for a subscription and I have continuous recording. That was the dealbreaker feature for me."

"5GHz makes a real difference — my v3 cameras on 2.4GHz had lag and buffering. The v4 on 5GHz is smooth and fast to connect."

"I have six of these covering my entire property. Total cost was less than one premium camera. Coverage per dollar is unmatched."

Wyze has had some notable security issues historically. The hardware is great but I'm hesitant to put it in a bedroom for that reason. Sticking to outdoor use.

My ideal mounting spot for the backyard doesn't have power within reach. Had to run a 20-foot USB cable. Wish there was a battery version of the v4.

The 5GHz support is new and has had some firmware issues — I had a camera dropping to 2.4GHz constantly. Fixed in a later update but not before several weeks of frustration.
Source: RedditThe Wyze Cam v4 is the most camera you can buy for $39 CAD — 2.5K video, 130° FOV, dual-band Wi-Fi, two-way audio, and a 32GB microSD card included. The limitations (wired power, ambient light required for color night vision, Wyze's security history) are real but shouldn't deter buyers who understand the trade-offs. For budget-first security coverage of entryways, driveways, and common areas, it's hard to beat.
