Expensive for a rice cooker — I know it's the best, but $229 for something that only cooks rice is hard to justify when a $50 unit does a good job.

"I'm Japanese and this is the rice cooker my mother uses, my grandmother uses, and now I use. There's no substitute for certain varieties."

"Brown rice comes out perfectly textured — not mushy, not undercooked. I've burned through three cheap cookers before this one."

Brown rice takes 90 minutes from start to finish. I use it for white rice every night but when I switched to brown it changed my whole dinner timing. Wish it were faster.

Not big enough for a family of six eating Asian dishes where rice is the main staple. We had to buy the larger model. Make sure you check the capacity before ordering.

Inner lid has to be removed and rinsed separately every time. It's not difficult but it's an extra step I forget and then have to deal with buildup.
Source: RedditThe Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 is the definitive rice cooker for households that eat rice daily and care about texture consistency — its Neuro Fuzzy logic eliminates the variability that even experienced cooks encounter with stovetop methods, and the 12-hour keep-warm holds rice without drying. The price is genuinely high for a single-task appliance, and buyers who cook rice occasionally won't find value at this tier. For households where rice is a daily staple — particularly those cooking Japanese, Korean, or Southeast Asian cuisines — this is the appliance that makes everything else easier.
