Carafe is impossible to clean inside…
The narrow neck makes cleaning the inside of the carafe a real chore. You need a long bottle brush and even then it's not easy. Gets funky inside if you neglect it.

"I was a pour-over snob until I got this. I did side-by-side tests and honest to god couldn't tell my pour-over from the Bonavita. Saved me 15 minutes a morning."

"Coffee tastes the same at 8am as it does at 10:30am. The thermal carafe is the reason. No more burnt coffee sitting on a hot plate."

"One button. Fill water, add coffee, press button. Drink excellent coffee. That's it. That's the review."

"The bloom function makes a difference with fresh beans. Coffee from my local roaster tastes noticeably more complex with the bloom on."

Source: Amazon reviewerNo programmable timer is a dealbreaker…
I wanted to wake up to coffee already brewed. This machine doesn't do that — no timer, no programmable brew. Just a button. Deal-breaker for my use case.

The pour spout drips around the rim when you tilt it. Not a lot, but enough to make a mess on the counter daily. Older carafe design shows its age.
Source: RedditNo single-cup or pod compatibility…
Makes a full pot or nothing. If it's just me on weekday mornings I'm making 8 cups and throwing half of it away. Wish there was a 4-cup option.
Source: Amazon reviewerThe Bonavita BV1900TS is the best-value automatic drip coffee maker for Canadians who take coffee quality seriously. It hits optimal brew temperature, blooms grounds before brewing, and stores coffee in a thermal carafe — the three things that separate good automatic drip from mediocre. The carafe design is dated and there's no programmable timer, but for morning coffee from fresh-ground beans, the Bonavita produces results at $99 that compete with machines costing $300 more.
