Spring needs adjustment for lighter monitors…
Installed with a 22-inch 10-lb monitor and it kept rising on its own. Adjusting the internal spring with the included Allen key fixed it, but the instructions could be clearer.

"Set the monitor where I want it, let go, it stays. That's it. That's the feature. Every other arm I've owned has slowly sagged to the desk over weeks. The LX just doesn't do that."

"My 34-inch ultrawide sits perfectly. I was worried about the weight limit but the arm handles it easily. Cables are routed inside and invisible. The desk looks professional now."

"Moving the monitor out of the way for meals and meetings and back to work position is effortless. The range of motion is genuinely larger than I expected from the spec sheet."

"Freed up significant desk space by getting the monitor stand off the desk. Plus I can finally adjust height and distance for my specific sitting position. Worth every dollar."

Left slight marks on my wooden desk despite the included padding. Recommend adding extra felt or a rubber pad under the clamp for finished wood surfaces.
Source: RedditPricey compared to Amazon Basics…
The $199 price is hard to swallow when the Amazon Basics version (same mechanism) is ~$90. The LX finish is nicer but functionally very similar. Worth the premium if aesthetics matter.

More involved to set up than I expected. Routing cables through the arm takes patience and the spring calibration needs a trial run. Not difficult, just not instant.
Source: Amazon reviewerThe Ergotron LX is the definitive single-monitor arm for serious desk setups. The constant-force mechanism that holds any position without drift, the 34-inch and 25-lb capacity, and the integrated cable management combine to make this the most capable and best-built arm at this price. The OEM Amazon Basics version offers similar mechanics at lower cost, but the LX's finish quality and Ergotron's reputation for long-term reliability justify the premium for buyers who want the best.
